The Crystal Lake Chamber and the Crystal Lake Park District organize this free event every April, in conjunction with Earth Day. This is a free, family-friendly event. Come join us on Saturday, April 23rd from 8:30am to 1:00pm!
The morning begins with coffee, hot chocolate, doughnut holes, and fruit. Then, volunteers are given garbage bags, gloves and a location assignment, and venture out into community streets, neighborhoods, and parks, to clean up the trash left behind from winter. After the collection efforts, participants are invited to return to the Chamber for a hot lunch of freshly grilled hot dogs, chips, pop, and more!
We welcome individuals and groups of all kinds – scout troops, church groups, and families, and more. Businesses are encouraged to gather groups of employees and participate, in a show of community spirit.
There is no minimum age for participation; all are welcome, when accompanied by a parent or guardian. This is a “rain or shine” event; please dress for the weather.
Smaller groups, families, and individuals do not need to register. If you have a large group, please sign up by calling John Fiorina at the Crystal Lake Park District: 815.455.1763.
Bring your used and torn American flags with, too! They will be retired in a dignified manner, in accordance with the Flag Code, at a later date.
