The Crystal Lake Chamber and the Park District organize this free event every April, in conjunction with Earth Day.  This  year, over 250 volunteers met at the Chamber on the morning of Saturday April 20th, enjoyed some breakfast treats, then ventured out to various local sites to help clean up the trash left behind from winter. Afterwards, all the participants returned to the Chamber and were treated to a hot lunch and some musical entertainment.

Denise Hammer of AMS Store & Shred shared a couple of her pictures and remarked, “We were so busy cleaning up, we didn’t take too many pictures J.  It was our first year and it was great – just wish we could have done more!  I hope to pull a team together next year for this event.”

The Jessoe Family submitted a few photos taken after clean up along Huntley road from Bard to Barlina and said, “We moved to Crystal Lake 4 years ago from Henderson, NV and have volunteered for this event every year.  Such a wonderful event, we’ve really enjoyed helping out and think it’s a really wonderful thing that you guys do this each year.
